Going for Green Flag

GREEN FLAG AWARD

To become a Green Flag eco-school, we need to ensure that eco developments at St Julie’s are as follows:

  • pupil-led
  • involving hands-on, real-world learning
  • inclusive of the whole school and the wider community

We need to have:

  • an eco-committee of pupils
  • an environmental review of the school
  • an action plan
  • three Eco-Schools topics
  • monitoring and assessment of eco data
  • links to the curriculum and the whole school
  • information updates for the school and wider community
  • an eco-code devised by pupils and displayed in every classroom

We already hold Bronze and Silver awards.

In order to work for our Green Flag Award, we have to choose three topics from the following nine:

  1. Biodiversity
  2. Energy
  3. Litter
  4. Waste
  5. Water
  6. School Grounds
  7. Healthy Living
  8. Transport
  9. Global Citizenship

Click on the ‘Nine Topics’ picture below, to find out more about what we hope to do.
