In the new curriculum Year 3 and 4 have a spelling list they must learn along side the weekly spellings. The new spelling list they must be able to read the word, write the word and use it in a sentence. We have sent a copy of the spelling list home with the children so they can work on the words. For those who have misplaced theirs I have attached a copy.
In class we have a 'word of the day' were we read the word off the board, write it 3 times in our journals and then use it in a sentence. This is a technique you can use at home. Other techniques could be to randomly choose 5 words from the list and see if you could write a story using those words.
We have been working hard on our spelling list but as you can see we have a lot of words to get through (especially Year 4 before the end of the year) so over the last term if you could support us in working on some of the words at home. Thank you!
