I’ve just enjoyed reading a book called ‘Here We Are’ by Oliver Jeffers.

The illustrations are amazing and I loved the message at the end.

We hope you are trying to read a little each day and are listening to stories too.

What books have you enjoyed?

Maybe you have read a non-fiction book. What did you learn?

Hi,

I have been reading lots of different books. I have signed up for the Reading Challenge. I love to read. I have started to do some extreme reading and trying to find as many different and unusual places to read as I can.
Once I read on the windowsill and in the car boot but it was not moving, I just sat in there to read hehehe.
I have really enjoyed the David Walliams books. I have read nearly all of them, his books are just cracking me up!!! I am making my family laugh as I keep reading my books with the jokes inside.
Miss you all

Hi Mrs Sherman and year 1.
I have been reading the mummy fairy and me series. I felt good about it. It was funny but mummy fairy kept on using magic and things went wrong!
I have now started Rainbow magic series. I only like it a little bit because the goblins, they moan alot. In each story we have to find a lost fairy with Rachel and Kirsty. We have found Ruby, Amber, Saffron and Fern.
Love from Lexi-Mai bye xxx

Hi Lexi- Mai
Wow! The mummy fairy and me series sound an exciting series of books. I think lots of your friends would enjoy looking for a lost fairy with Rachel and Kirsty. Good luck finding more fairies.
I remember reading some stories about The Faraway Tree to my daughter Katie, when she was 6. They were lovely fantasy stories too.
I hope you can join the summer reading challenge and keep reading lots of books.
Love Mrs Sherman

Hi Grace,
I was so excited to hear from you. I remember all the fantastic reading you did in Year 1 but you are reading even more challenging books now. I'm sure that Year 3 learn about Roald Dahl, so you will love that. I think David Walliams enjoyed Roald Dahl books and that helped him to think of ideas, to write such funny stories too. I like the way David Walliams sometimes makes up his own words but always explains them to the reader. Thanks for telling me about the Midnight Gang, I think I will get that book for my grandson Zach, he loves reading David Walliams books.
Good luck with the Summer Reading Challenge.

Hi Grace,
It's lovely to hear from you again. I think you love to read lots of books just like Matilda. I took Zach to watch Matilda last year too and I agree with you it was an amazing show . My favourite song was 'When I grow up.' and I loved watching the children jumping on the big swing and all the dance routines . I'm not sure if Zach's read 'The Diary of a Wimpy Kid,' I'll ask him. It sounds like a fun book to read
Lots of love Mrs Sherman
