Come and See
At St Julie, we follow the 'Come and See' scheme as recommended by Liverpool Archdiocese. An annual overview of this is shown below.
Each term pupils will study topics which develop understanding of the following themes: Church, Sacrament and Christian Living.
Each topic lasts for 4 weeks and is taught in the sequence:
Explore: pupils are introduced to the topic through their own experiences
Reveal: Catholic faith is revealed through scripture, tradition, doctrine, prayers, rites and Christian Living.
Respond: Pupils reflect on, and celebrate their learning. This culminates in a short act of worship, prepared by pupils and shared with parents/guardians.
Other Faiths
It is important to us that our children see themselves as part of a wider community. To ensure we have real and lasting experiences, we have a wide range of Other Faith visitors and visits to places of worship so that children can develop an understanding of, and respect for, the major world religions.
Big Question
Pupils of all ages are encouraged to reflect on their work. As such, pupils are presented with ' Big Questions' to help them think more deeply about the topic they are studying. Please see below for an overview of the questions your children will be thinking about. Also, have a look at class blogs where children and parents can share their thoughts on these questions of life.
