Home celebration and prayer: the Rosary

May: Honouring Mary, Mother of Jesus

During the month of May, we celebrate Mary, the Mother of Jesus, in a special way. As a Catholic school, we take time to reflect on Mary's faith, love and trust in God, recognising her as a wonderful example of discipleship for us all.

Throughout the month, the children will learn more about Mary's role in God's plan of salvation and how her example encourages us to say "yes" to God in our own lives. We will also gather together in prayer, including our annual May Procession, as we honour Mary and ask for her prayers.

To help strengthen the link between home and school, we are delighted to share our Travelling Rosary Prayer Bag. During May, the bag will be sent home with different children, giving each family the opportunity to spend time praying together.

Each Rosary Prayer Bag includes:

  • a Rosary

  • child-friendly prayer resources

  • pictures of Mary

  • colouring activities

  • The Rosary for Children book

We invite families to spend some quiet time together using these resources to pray, reflect and learn more about the Rosary. We hope this special opportunity will help children deepen their understanding of prayer and encourage families to share moments of faith together at home.

Thank you for supporting your child's faith journey as we honour Mary throughout this special month.
