At St Julie Catholic Primary School, prayer and liturgy are at the heart of our school community. We are committed to providing opportunities for all children to know, love and serve God, nurturing their relationship with him and deepening their understanding of the Catholic faith as they grow and live within an ever-changing, diverse world.
Prayer and liturgy at St Julie’s provide opportunities to recognise and celebrate God’s presence in our lives. Through prayer, reflection and worship, we offer our praise, thanksgiving and love to God. It is our response to his invitation to enter into a deeper relationship with him, made possible through Jesus Christ and guided by the presence of the Holy Spirit.
Prayer and liturgy take many forms across our school. Children are encouraged to develop a rich and personal prayer life through:

Christian meditation and moments of stillness
daily class prayer
Celebration of the Word assemblies

traditional Catholic prayers and devotions
special liturgical celebrations throughout the school year
Mass and opportunities to celebrate the Eucharist
preparation for and celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation
Each celebration of prayer and liturgy is carefully planned to reflect the age, needs and experiences of our pupils, as well as the nature of the gathering and the season of the Church’s year. Through these opportunities, our children are invited to encounter Christ, reflect on his teachings and respond by living out their faith through love and service.
At St Julie’s, we believe that prayer and liturgy nurture our school family, helping our children to grow as disciples of Jesus and to recognise that God is present in every aspect of their lives.
Prayer Spaces
Throughout our school, prayer stations can be found in our foyer, classrooms and communal areas. These quiet, welcoming spaces encourage children to pause during the day to pray, talk to God and spend time in peaceful reflection. Whether offering thanks, asking for guidance or simply enjoying a moment of stillness,.
Our prayer stations help to nurture each child's spiritual journey and remind us that God's presence is at the heart of our school community. They provide opportunities for children of all ages to deepen their faith, find comfort and grow in love, hope and compassion.
