Prayer and Liturgy
At St. Julie’s Catholic Primary School, we are fully committed to providing opportunities for all children to know, love and serve God, in such a way that will enrich their own lives and help them to understand their Catholic faith traditions, in an ever changing world and within the multicultural society they live in.
Prayer and liturgy at St Julie's names and celebrates God's presence in our lives. It is concerned with giving glory, honour, praise and thanks to God. It is our loving response, in word and action, to God’s invitation to enter into a relationship with Him, made possible through the work of Jesus Christ and the witness of the Holy Spirit.
At St Julie's prayer and liturgy takes many forms: e.g. individual prayer, Christian meditation, Celebration of the Word assemblies, Celebration of the Word in class, traditional common prayers, devotions, special services for times of the school year, celebrations of Mass and the Sacrament of Reconciliation and Eucharist. Each form or prayer and liturgy will have its own character dependent on the circumstances, size and age of the group, the place of celebration and its content.
